Tropical Storm Cindy is forming in the Atlantic
On Thursday night, Tropical Storm Cindy strengthened in the Atlantic Ocean. As of the 11 p.m. advisory, Tropical Storm Cindy was located about 1,110 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. The system is moving west-northwest at 14 mph. On Thursday night, a tropical depression in the Atlantic Ocean strengthened into a tropical storm.
As of the 11 p.m. advisory, Tropical Storm Cindy was located 1,110 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. The system is moving west-northwest at 14 mph.
The storm is expected to move in a west-northwest direction for the next few days.
“On the forecast track, the system is expected to be northeast of the northern Leeward Islands early next week,” the National Hurricane Center said. “Some strengthening is forecast over the next couple of days.”
