Tornado Warning as Severe Storms Move Across South Florida

All tornado watches and warnings were canceled early Sunday morning after storms moved across the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County and caused damage at an apartment complex near US 1 and PGA Boulevard Saturday afternoon. Strong winds overturned a few cars in the parking lot and uprooted nearby trees. The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down in Boynton Beach Friday night. All hurricane watches and warnings have been canceled after the storms moved across the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County early Sunday morning.

Cyclone watches, warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect from 5 am to 10:15 am.

A tornado hit Palm Beach Gardens Saturday afternoon, causing damage to an apartment complex near US 1 and PGA Boulevard.

Strong winds overturned a few cars in the parking lot and uprooted nearby trees.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in Boynton Beach Friday night. The only damage was on High Point Road, a small residential community.

WPBF 25 meteorologists declared Sunday the first warning weather day.
