Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. House Republicans are rejecting calls from Democrats to call Kennedy Jr. as a witness at Thursday’s hearing.
“I disagree with everything he said,” Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Monday.
But he declined to invite Kennedy, the Democratic presidential contender, from the House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on Federal Armaments, which is examining the audit, on Thursday.
“The question we have this week is about censorship,” McCarthy continued. “I don’t think censoring anybody is really the answer here.”
Kennedy is set to testify as a Republican-selected witness.
But after that The New York Post reported His comments over the weekend prompted Democrats to push back on his inclusion.
Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), Daniel Goldman (DN.Y.), and Judy Chu (D-Calif.) wrote to McCarthy and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) on Monday. They should cancel the invitation to Kennedy.
“Mr. Kennedy has repeatedly in recent times propagated vile and dangerous anti-Semitic and anti-Asian conspiracy theories that undermine his credibility as a witness and should not be legitimized by his appearance before the United States Congress or given an official committee hearing platform to propagate his baseless and biased views,” the Democrat said. party members said in a letter shared with The Hill.
“The conspiracies put forth by Mr. Kennedy were made without any scientific evidence, which is not surprising because there is no such evidence. In fact, the British Office for National Statistics recently revealed data showing that British Jews have a higher death rate from COVID-19 in the UK than any other ethnic group.
Asked about calls to remove Kennedy, the House Judiciary Committee pointed to Jordan’s comments. Politics echoed McCarthy.
“I totally disagree with what he said, but he’s a Democrat. I don’t agree with other things he said, but we’re keeping him because of censorship,” Jordan said.
A Report On Twitter, Kennedy criticized the New York Post for breaking a nondisclosure agreement, and he noted that its reports on the racial effects of COVID-19 amounted to governments developing racially targeted bioweapons.
“I don’t believe and never meant that the racial effect was intentionally designed,” Kennedy said.
